Who is LACFA?
LACFA is a statewide membership association of nonprofit and for-profit agencies that provide child welfare, juvenile justice and behavioral health programs.

What does LACFA provide?
Members are provided important information for the provision of strong services for at-risk children and families.

Help with National Accreditation
Through membership with the National Association of State Associations for Children, LACFA members are entitled to receive a 25% discount on Council On Accreditation (COA) fees.

Agency Directory of Members and their Services
Do you ever feel that you need another perspective? The Membership Directory provides access information to leadership of similar organizations.

Training and Professional Development Opportunities for Staff
Workshops offer professional assistance in staff development with high quality training in various topics such as the nationally recognized professional child and youth care (CYC) credential, evidence-based models and Medicaid practices.

Speakers and Sessions for In-depth Discussions of Current Affairs and Action-planning
Speakers and programs at membership meetings give members current information on a variety of topics relevant to service delivery issues.

Up-to-date Information on Legislative, Budgetary and Other Advocacy Issues
LACFA Minute Briefs provide members with up-to-date information of Louisiana legislative sessions affecting children and their families. Through its relationship with Child Welfare League of America, LACFA provides its members with news about national public policy issues. The Children's Monitor and GrantStation Insider give members additional information about national trends and funding opportunities.

Partnership and Networking Opportunities with Public and Private Agencies
Quarterly meetings include representatives from governmental agencies such as, the Department of Children and Family Services, the Office of Juvenile Justice,  the Department of Health and Hospitals, and the Healthy Louisiana Plans.

Who can join?
Licensed non-profit and for-profit agencies with services for at-risk children and their families are encouraged to complete the membership application. How much does it cost?
Dues are on a graduated scale depending on your agency's revenue and expenses as detailed on application form.
